I haven’t done this for almost two years, even though the cost of running a blog goes up every year. Unlike other blogs, I don’t need to collect thousands per month, but breaking even costs about $120-150 per month; $50 more if I add a new podcast, which I would like to do.
For those of you who have always supported this blog, thank you very much. I am more grateful than you could ever know. For those who haven’t yet, please consider doing so. If everyone who reads every post on this blog gave $10 per fundraiser, I’d have more than I would ever need for the next several years. If someone with deep pockets can donate $10,000, I would never hold another fundraiser and I could make this the best progressive blog in the world…
I have a lot of plans for this space over the next few months, in addition to finally posting something thoughtful every day. I will be including information to make it more likely to make sure Democrats win everywhere in 2020 and beyond. For example, this week, I explained why the latest version of “Medicare For All,” which is more like “Medicare if you want it,” makes a hell of a lot more sense than the fantasy of forcing everyone into single-payer whether you like it or not. I plan on a lot more coverage of the impeachment and the 2020 election, of course, and I plan on offering more pragmatic alternatives to other unicorn progressive fantasies.
Please help out if you can. In addition to the usual donate buttons, which are located in the right column, I have once again included a GoFundMe badge this time. I’ve found them to be safe and secure and reliable. For those who may be afraid, when you donate via any method, I only get your email address. Of course, everyone who registers sends me their email, and I don’t use any of them. I don’t send anything more than a “thank you” email back.
Please help us out if you can. It’s really appreciated and it will help us all “Flush the turd on November 3. 2018 and 2019 were good electoral years for us, and our hope is to do our part to keep that going. This blog will help you cope with Trump, which is far better than a constant series of stressors.
