President Obama And Demcrats Worked to Improve Our Overall Health and Safety

One thing the right wing Republican mindset doesn’t deal well with is the notion that Americans are entitled to basic health and safety in the Constitution. Think about it; they worship a cartoon version of the Second Amendment to the point of lunacy and they are willing to spend insane amounts of money building weapons that we will never have to use, but they scoff at the idea that we all have a right to the health care we need and we have the right to be protected by our government to the extent possible.

President Obama returned us to the notion that healthcare was a right, not a consumer product like soap or a car and, as he did with science overall, he took the time to make sure our rights to both health and safety were taken seriously after years of Republican neglect. Here are some examples of what he accomplished:

By 2014, the Affordable Care Act dropped the number of uninsured Americans by 22.3%, which amounts to more than 10.3 million people with insurance who didn’t have it before. Only 13.9% of Americans are uninsured, a drop from 18.9% in 2013.
