“Pro-Trump?” Based on What?

There have been some heated protests today, especially in Berkeley, where anti-Trump protesters have used this date – which is the usual deadline for filing income taxes – to perhaps encourage Lord Donny to release his tax returns. This would be useful because, right now, we have no actual idea how extensively he has violated the emoluments clause of the Constitution, how deeply indebted he is to foreign governments, including some we may have to deal with before his impeachment, and it would be nice to be able to articulate the deep level of conflicts of interest he has.

That’s not what interests me in this latest dust-up, though. Bear with me.

This is the most corrupt, crooked and hopelessly inept and incompetent administration in the history of this country. There has never been anything like it before, possibly in world history. I mean, yes, there have been corrupt leaders before, but few that have reached the enormous level of narcissism combined with incompetence that this current figurehead demonstrates on a daily basis.

So, pardon my puzzlement when I read the news stories on the Berkeley demonstrations and see the term “pro-Trump” to describe the right side of these clashes.

Who the FUCK can be “pro-Trump” right now? I’m being serious, too. I mean, all of us are hoping he extracts his head from his anus long enough to get a clue and there are some people who voted for him who are hoping beyond hope that he won’t be as bad as they feared, even as they voted for him. However, “pro-Trump”? What does that even mean?

What exactly are you in favor of?

— The big bad wall he keeps promising, but knows he’ll never build because it’s too expensive for even a Republican Congress to approve?

— His reversal on his promise to make Mexico pay for the wall he will never build and his proposal to institute a 20 percent tariff on all imports, which would cause thousands of small businesses to close and result in huge price increases on the items we all buy every day?

— His proposed cuts to every service the government now provides, at the same time he increases the defense budget by more than the Pentagon even wants?

— His penchant for bombing shit as the solution to virtually anything?

— His unwillingness to listen to the intelligence community?

— His constant signing of “Executive Orders” as if he’s a toddler show mommy how he went potty?

— His constant insults and derision of the press and anyone who doesn’t constantly kiss his ample ass?

— his attempts to ramp up tensions with countries who would happily start a war?

— His fealty to Russia and Vladimir Putin?

— His unwillingness to produce tax returns?

— His complete lack of transparency with regard to the goings-on in the White House, such as his refusal to release visitor logs?

— His constant release of sensitive data to the public and quite possibly our enemies?

— His compete lack of decorum and his seeming refusal to protect the dignity of the presidency?

— His tendency to hire people to run government departments who know nothing about government?

I could go on and on and on and on… but really…

How the hell could anyone be “pro-Trump” right now. He’s done absolutely nothing positive since he was unfortunately elected and his entire administration is a clusterfuck of absolutely biblical proportions…

  1. By and large the Pro Trump crowd is roughly the same as the “reality TV” show crowd which includes pro-wrestling viewers. They don’t mind being lied to they know it is fake. What seems to be important to them are three things:

    1) it has to be an exciting spectacle (so-and-so got smashed with a chair and the ref didn’t see it. so-and-so got dumped for another girl. that rag-head country just got bombed. all the same).

    2) It has to piss off liberals/progressives/leftists who they think have been looking down on them for some reason. It may not even be true (see #1) but the more freaked out you and I get the more they love it. All the bullet points you list above to them are plusses not minuses.

    3) The deranged hatred of anything Clinton is real even if the reasons for it are not. No need to go into that further.

So there you have it. Some of the “pro-Trump” crowd are beginning to see the consequences of their “choice.” Who knows if it will be enough.

  2. I agree with you 100%.. I post your articles on my Donald Trump Lies and Republican Lies google + collection.. you are always spot on and I appreciate all of your hard work. Thank you for your excellent, informative, truthful website..
